This Privacy Policy explains how Afzatech (“I”, “me”, “this website”) collects, uses and protects your information when you visit afzatech.com. I take your privacy seriously and only collect what is needed to run the site well.
1. Information I collect
- Information you give me. When you use the contact form or leave a comment, I receive your name, email address and the content of your message.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site records basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you visit and how long you stay. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
2. How I use your information
- To reply to your messages and comments.
- To understand which guides are useful, so I can improve the site.
- To keep the website secure and protect it from spam and abuse.
- Where you have agreed, to show relevant advertising.
I do not sell your personal information to anyone.
3. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. This site uses essential cookies to make it work, analytics cookies to understand how visitors use it, and, with your consent, advertising cookies. When you first visit, you can choose which cookies to accept using the privacy notice, and you can change your choice at any time through the privacy settings link. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may not work properly as a result.
4. Third-party services
To run this website I rely on trusted third-party services, which may process limited data on my behalf. These include:
- Google (Analytics, Search Console and, where used, advertising) to measure traffic and show ads. You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Hostinger, which hosts this website.
- Jetpack and WordPress.com for site statistics and performance.
- Wordfence for security and spam protection.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy, and I encourage you to read them.
5. Affiliate links and advertising
Some guides contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The retailer may use cookies to track that the sale came from this site. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
6. Comments
When you leave a comment, your name, email, IP address and browser details are stored to help detect spam. Your email address is never published. Comments may be kept indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically.
7. How long I keep your data
Messages sent through the contact form are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Analytics data is kept in line with the retention settings of the service that collects it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how it is used, and withdraw your consent at any time. To make a request, please use the contact page. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority; in the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
9. Children’s privacy
This website is not aimed at children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
11. Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please get in touch through the contact page.
